What is a Transaction?

Breast ultrasonography (USG) is an imaging method used to examine tissue changes and masses in the breast. This method can be very effective in the early detection of breast cancer. When used in combination with mammography, it provides a clearer view of abnormalities in the breast tissue and helps to make the diagnosis more accurate.

How is it done?

In our clinic in Çiğli, Izmir, breast ultrasonography is performed in a comfortable environment. While the patient lies in a comfortable position, the probe (head) of the ultrasound device is gently applied to the breast area. The probe sends sound waves, which are reflected back from the breast tissue to form an image on the device. Thanks to these high-resolution images, doctors can see in detail cysts, masses or other abnormal structures in the breast. The procedure is usually painless and takes a few minutes.

What are the Symptoms?

Breast ultrasonography can be performed when the following symptoms are present

  • Breast pain or tenderness: The cause of the pain or tenderness felt in the breast is investigated.
  • Swelling or Mass Sensation in Breast Tissue: It is evaluated when there is a noticeable hardness or abnormal swelling in the breast.
  • Nipple discharge: It is used to understand the cause of fluid coming from the nipple.
  • Skin Changes or Redness: If there is redness, swelling or structural changes in the skin in the breast, it is examined.

What are the Treatment Methods?

  • Early Diagnosis and Monitoring: Possible problems in the breast tissue are detected at an early stage and the treatment process is accelerated.
  • Biopsy when necessary: If an abnormal mass is detected during ultrasound, a more detailed examination is performed by taking a tissue sample (biopsy) from this area.
  • Follow-up and Control: Breast USG can be used to follow up on previously detected problems and monitor the healing process.

Breast ultrasonography is a commonly used and reliable method to provide detailed and reliable information about patients’ health.
