What is a Transaction?

Mammography is an X-ray imaging procedure to detect breast cancer at an early stage. This procedure helps to determine the risk of cancer by detecting small masses and abnormal structures in the breast tissue. Mammography allows the treatment process to start quickly, especially thanks to early diagnosis.

How is it done?

At our clinic in Çiğli, Izmir, mammography is performed with our advanced diagnostic systems. During the procedure, the patient is placed in the mammography machine and the breast tissue is gently compressed between two layers. This compression is necessary to clearly visualize the structures in the breast and makes the images more detailed. The device takes high-resolution X-ray images and scans for possible abnormalities in the breast tissue. The procedure usually takes a few minutes and is usually painless, although some patients may experience slight discomfort.

What are the Symptoms?

Screening mammography can be performed if you have the following symptoms

  • Breast pain or tenderness: Persistent or temporary pain or tenderness in the breast.
  • Swelling or Mass Sensation in Breast Tissue: A noticeable hardness or abnormal lump in the breast.
  • Nipple discharge: Bloody or transparent discharge from the nipple.
  • Skin Changes or Redness: Change in skin color, redness or differentiation of the skin in the breast.

What are the Treatment Methods?

  • Early Diagnosis and Monitoring: Mammography helps detect breast cancer at an early stage and helps to start treatment at an early stage.
  • Biopsy if necessary: If an abnormal mass is detected during mammography, a tissue sample (biopsy) is taken from this mass to assess the risk of cancer.
  • Artificial Intelligence Assisted Diagnosis: Mammography images are analyzed with artificial intelligence algorithms, enabling fast and accurate diagnosis.

Mammography is an important tool to detect breast cancer early and thus ensure that patients’ health is intervened as soon as possible.
