What is a Transaction?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a scanning method that creates detailed images of the body’s internal structure. The procedure uses magnetic fields and radio waves that do not harm the body. MRI is particularly effective for examining soft tissues, the nervous system and internal organs. It does not harm the body as it does not require any incision or intervention (non-invasive).
How is it done?
At our clinic in Çiğli, Izmir, during an MRI scan, the patient lies down inside the device and the procedure begins while lying in a comfortable position. The MRI device scans the internal structure of the body by sending magnetic fields and radio waves. This scan creates detailed images of organs and tissues in the body. The procedure usually provides higher resolution and more detailed images than ultrasound or X-rays. During the scan, it is important that the patient remains still so that clear and accurate results are obtained. It does not cause pain in most patients and the procedure usually takes 15-45 minutes.
What are the Symptoms?
An MRI scan can be performed in patients with the following symptoms:
- Chronic or Severe Pain: Pain that is particularly long-lasting or persistent.
- Neurological Symptoms: Complaints related to the nervous system, such as dizziness, loss of balance, numbness or limb weakness.
- Limitation of Movement or Muscle Weakness: Pain, weakness or difficulty moving joints or muscles.
- Swelling and Inflammation: Understanding the cause of symptoms of swelling and inflammation in the body.
- Disorders of Organ Functions: Detailed examination when there are problems with the function of the liver, kidneys or other internal organs.
What are the Treatment Methods?
- Surgical Planning: It is used to make a detailed map of the internal structure of the body before surgery and to plan the operation in the best way.
- Treatment of Nervous System Diseases: Problems in the brain and nervous system, such as multiple sclerosis or brain tumors, are diagnosed and monitored with MRI.
- Musculoskeletal System Diseases: It is used to evaluate conditions such as muscle, bone and joint problems, tears or damage and to guide treatment.
- Artificial Intelligence Assisted Diagnosis: MRI images are analyzed by artificial intelligence algorithms, allowing for accurate and rapid diagnosis.
MRI scanning plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment process and allows doctors to obtain more detailed information. With this method, the problems experienced by patients are more clearly understood and the most appropriate treatment plan is prepared.
