What is a Transaction?
Shoulder arthroplasty is the process of replacing the shoulder joint. This method is applied when there is severe damage or pain in the shoulder joint. Problems in the shoulder joint, such as arthritis (inflammation of the joint), shoulder fractures or tendon damage, can cause the joint to lose function. Shoulder arthroplasty is a surgical procedure to eliminate these problems and restore the mobility of the shoulder. This reduces pain and restores normal function of the shoulder joint.
How is it done?
In our clinic in Çiğli, Izmir, we use advanced diagnostic systems supported by artificial intelligence to better understand shoulder joint problems and plan the most appropriate treatment. The surgical procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia (the patient is completely asleep) or regional anesthesia (only the shoulder area is numbed). During the procedure, the damaged shoulder joint surface is removed and replaced with special prosthetic implants made of metal or plastic. These prostheses help the shoulder joint regain its former function and reduce pain. After the procedure is completed, the patient’s rehabilitation process begins. During rehabilitation, special exercises are performed to strengthen the shoulder and restore mobility.
What are the Symptoms?
Patients with serious problems in the shoulder joint may feel the following symptoms:
- Severe Shoulder Pain: Persistent pain in the shoulder during daily activities or at rest.
- Swelling and stiffness of the joint: Swelling and limitation of movement in the shoulder joint.
- Limitation of movement and loss of normal function: Difficulty when moving the shoulder and limited movement.
- Tenderness Around the Shoulder: Tenderness, creaking or rubbing sensation around the shoulder.
- Difficulty with daily activities: Pain and difficulty lifting the arms or performing simple movements.
What are the Treatment Methods?
- Surgical Intervention: The shoulder joint is completely replaced and a prosthesis is inserted. This procedure restores the function of the shoulder and reduces pain.
- Medication Therapy: Painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs aim to reduce shoulder pain and swelling.
- Physical Therapy Special exercise programs are applied to increase the mobility of the shoulder and strengthen the muscles.
- Artificial Intelligence Assisted Diagnosis: Artificial intelligence-supported systems are used to accurately evaluate shoulder joint problems and determine the most suitable prosthesis for the patient.
These methods aim to improve patients’ quality of life by effectively treating shoulder joint problems.
